In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
I begin this journey like all good things start, by the divine name of my Master
In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful
Why is it significant to begin anything with the Name of Allah? Afterall, the Quran begins with it and we are taught to begin all things with the Name of Allah. Why?
Because doing so draws upon Allah, The Almighty King to be involved in the very thing that you are about to do. His Excellency’s attention, blessing, help, mercy are all specially poured into the act by invoking His Name and all things that are worthy of doing are only those that can be started with the Name of Allah.
That in itself brings reform to one’s actions, pondering upon whether any task can be started by attributing it to The Almighty God will shine light on whether the task is truly beneficial or not. No human would drink poison by attributing it to his Creator, he would feel deep within, that it would be a profane thing to do. This moral compass every human has within them can easily be called upon simply with starting all things with بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
My hope in this small initiative is to share the profound lessons I come across in my study of the Quran, Surah by Surah. Documenting their core teachings for those on the journey to find one’s purpose and those seeking logical and emotional reform in all aspects of one’s life.
The Quran is undoubtably clear, but it is not simple to understand with minimal effort, it commands that you keep asking questions and seek answers from within it. Each individual will have a personalized syllabus when learning the Quran, one’s age, nation, situations, struggles all play a part in what kind of questions one have about their lives, but those who use the Quran to seek their answers will always find it.
Allah says in Surah Ar-Rahman, 55:1 to 55:2
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
The Most Compassionate
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
taught the Quran,
Allah chose to highlight His Mercy and Compassion to describe Himself in teaching man the Quran, and like every merciful teacher, Allah will absolutely make the Quran easy for those who want to learn, taking them through it with full consideration of what exactly is needed to be taught and when
The Teacher teaches what He knows of His Ultimate Wisdom is most beneficial for His student, so instead of prioritising your own desire for certain answers, submit to the teacher and you will find everything in life that would seem to be random to others, like an everyday event, conversation, a random social media post etc. all come into play in teaching you the Quran and its teachings. Allah has already started teaching you with practical experiences in life, but only an interested student willing to put in the effort to learning will reap all the benefits of what they have experienced.
And Allah knows best.
In shaa Allah, I shall document my own journey to Allah, His Messenger (SAW) and the Light that has been sent down to us, and it may hopefully be of benefit to me and those around me in the future. So let us begin
